Mini Implants
Mini implants are used for a variety of reasons but usually when the load to be placed on them is not significant. Mini implants are most often employed as a temporary measure to hold existing dentures in place whilst full implants set into the bone. Mini implants are often proposed as the final solution to stabalise dentures. The big difference between mini implants and full sized ones are the ability of full dental implants to maintain bone structure which would otherwise naturally deteriorate. If mini implants are fitted they will serve their purpose for a limited amount of time but later when bone has reduced they become much less effective and new dentures will need to be made and new mini implants fitted. So in the long run this tactic may well work out to be much more expensive.

What else can be done with dental implants?
